Cheryl Ann Tweedy was born on born 30th June in Newcastle upon Tyne in Britain. She was into show biz at an early age performing in large number of fashion and modeling shows. She also acted in plays, sang, did ball room dancing and won several competitions in ballet dancing. She was in spot light as a child even before she became a star by winning various awards like Mother care Happy Faces Portrait competition, Best Looking Girl of Newcastle, Most Attractive Girl at Metro Centre, a very famous mall in New Castle, and Best Looking Girl of Newcastle.

A pop star is a reality television program and working as a waitress in a restaurant she threw her ring into the contest. With her strong back ground in acting singing and dancing she stormed her way into the finals and the first to be selected. Along with rest of the final winners they started out with a band called girls aloud which has gone on to become one of the biggest bands in UK. Their debut album went on to become platinum selling 330,000 copies. All of the albums sold in large numbers with three more silvers making her a true celebrity.
